Posie — The Horned Masquerade

Most people underestimate Posie Glenbrook before he even speaks.

Small even for a halfling, soft-featured, elegant, and unnervingly pretty, Posie looks more like a sheltered noble heir than someone capable of robbing an aristocrat blind while smiling politely across the dinner table.

That misunderstanding has made him very wealthy.

Born into privilege but disgusted by the greed surrounding the upper class, Posie developed a dangerous hobby: infiltrating the estates of the rich, uncovering their secrets, and relieving them of valuables they were too corrupt to deserve. Jewels, blackmail ledgers, cursed relics, hidden vaults — if it belonged to a cruel noble, Posie considered it community redistribution.

The hard-working poor, however, are untouchable.
Posie steals for them far more often than from them.

When operating openly, he appears refined, charming, and almost delicate. But beneath the bone mask and curled golden horns of his masquerade persona, something colder emerges: a patient infiltrator who moves through guarded estates like a shadow wearing silk gloves.

Locks click open beneath his fingers.
Poison rests hidden in tiny vials.
Daggers and pistols appear only when charm fails.

And despite his growing reputation among criminal circles, Posie treats thievery less like violence and more like performance art.

To him, the perfect heist is not merely profitable.
It is beautiful.

Every stolen treasure, escaped pursuit, and humiliated aristocrat is simply another act in the grand masquerade Posie has built around himself — one where the monster beneath the mask may actually be kinder than the nobles without one.
