Bordok — Faith Behind the Hammer

At first glance, Bordok Aagrush looks exactly like the kind of orc stories warn you about.

Towering frame. Scarred iron-gray skin. Heavy armor worn from constant damage. A warhammer large enough to crush bone in a single strike. To most people, he appears every bit the hardened warrior forged through endless battle.

Bordok knows that image is a lie.

Most of his scars came from accidents, failed training drills, collapsing equipment, or pure bad luck rather than glorious combat. While his family earned honor on battlefields, Bordok survived mostly by standing behind stronger warriors and praying no one noticed how terrified he actually was.

In his culture, battle is sacred.
Courage is worship.
Bloodshed is devotion.

And Bordok has spent most of his life believing he failed all three.

Now, carrying the weight of shame and expectation, he has thrown himself into the life of a wandering war cleric determined to become the person everyone already assumes he is. Every ruined road, monster hunt, harsh winter, and desperate battle has become part of a personal pilgrimage to prove that bravery is not the absence of fear, but the decision to keep moving despite it.

Ironically, the more Bordok tries to become terrifying, the more obvious his true nature becomes.

His hands are too careful with wounded people.
His eyes are too gentle.
He apologizes after intimidating strangers.
And despite carrying enough magical gear to outfit a small adventuring party, he still looks mildly surprised whenever someone calls him a hero.

Bordok is not the greatest warrior his faith has ever produced.

But he may become one of its most honest believers.
