Kalreghr — Hammer of the Hearth

At nearly ten feet tall and built like a living mountain, Kalreghr should be terrifying.

Instead, most people remember how gentle he is.

Born among a clan of Hill-Firbolgs known for hunting Fire Giants, Kalreghr spent his early life surrounded by warriors, monster slayers, and stories written in blood and iron. But while others found purpose in battle, Kalreghr found peace at the forge.

The rhythm of hammer against anvil made more sense to him than war ever did.

Over years of studying giant-forged metallurgy and ancient smithing techniques, he became one of his clan’s greatest craftsmen, creating weapons and armor not to glorify violence, but to help others survive it. Eventually, that desire to protect grew beyond the forge itself, leading him toward the path of the Life Domain.

Now Kalreghr wanders the world as both smith and cleric, repairing armor, crafting tools, healing wounds, and quietly helping communities too small or forgotten to defend themselves alone.

Despite his immense strength, Kalreghr carries himself with patience and warmth. Animals trust him instinctively. Plants seem to lean toward him when he speaks. Children often mistake him for some enormous wandering folk hero.

And then there are the fairies.

Among those closest to him, Kalreghr is infamous for his hopeless fascination with fey folk, particularly the tiny winged kind. His favorite treat, Pixie Tarts, carries a rather specific magical property allowing the eater to change size temporarily — a discovery that has led to more than a few extremely questionable romantic decisions over the years.

Kalreghr denies absolutely none of this.

Because beneath the giant’s strength, holy magic, and soot-covered hands is simply someone who believes life is meant to be protected, nurtured, and occasionally enjoyed in very creative ways.
