Tirion Faenwyn Fordring never hated the traditions of his people.

With no mentor and only fragments of forgotten arcane theory to guide him, he taught himself through relentless experimentation. Some attempts were brilliant. Others were catastrophic. A branch once turned to glass. A squirrel briefly gained speech. Entire nights vanished into glowing diagrams sketched obsessively into borrowed journals.

Rather than frightening him, failure only deepened his curiosity.
